Model 8855 and Model 453 provide an aesthetically pleasing door solution that adds enhanced wind load-rated protection for areas prone to severe weather
Wayne Dalton, a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial dock and door solutions, has introduced Contemporary Aluminum Model 8855 (residential) and Aluminum Full-View Model 453 (commercial) to its vast collection of residential and commercial door offerings. Built to meet local building codes, including the Florida Building Code and Static and Impact approvals, these new aluminum full-view models feature large windows for natural light and an unrestricted view, as well as robust wind load protection for homes and businesses in high-wind areas.
“Model 8855 and 453 were intentionally created so customers no longer need to compromise on design to safeguard their homes or businesses from severe weather,” Wayne Dalton® Product Manager Chris Williams said. “Building on the tremendous success of our existing Contemporary Aluminum residential collection and Aluminum Full-View commercial line, we developed these models to bring the coveted design to the Coastal and high wind areas nationwide with the added benefit of wind load protection.”
Models 8855 and 453 both offer a sleek, modern look that comes in a variety of finish options. Customers have the ability to choose from one of five anodized frame finishes: clear, light bronze, medium bronze, dark bronze and black to deliver their ultimate curb appeal preference. Users also have the option to customize the powder coat color by selecting from approximately 200 RAL colors or color match to architect specifications.
Engineered to withstand severe weather, Model 8855 and 453 offer enhanced wind load protection, handling design pressures up to +50.0/-50.0 PSF and an impact-rated option with design pressures of up to +48/-54 PSF. The doors also include impact and joint seals between sections and glass alternatives such as Clear Lexan® Polycarbonate, Multiwall Polycarbonate, and Plexiglass® Acrylic for additional weather resistance.
The Contemporary Aluminum Model 8855 (residential) is available up to 20’2” wide by 20’1” high or up to 18’2” wide and 20’1” high for impact-rated designs. Similarly, the Aluminum Full-View Model 453 (commercial) is available up to 22’2” wide by 20’1 high or up to 18’2” wide and 20’1” high for impact-rated designs.
“A major appeal of these doors is the light and airy aesthetic they provide. Their wide, heavy-duty rails, stiles and reinforcement struts are innovative in the way that they don’t interfere with the vision panels, offering a clean look and a wide area of unobstructed viewpoints,” Williams concluded. “Model 8855 is perfect for contemporary homes, while Model 453 is ideal for commercial applications such as auto dealerships, car washes and restaurant patios where aesthetics are a priority. By expanding our offerings, we’re making it possible for home and business owners to achieve their dream exterior without sacrificing peace of mind or design.”
