Central Texas’ Largest Local Apartment Association Recognizes Presidium for Industry Excellence

Presidium properties and staff recognized at the 2020 Austin Apartment Association’s APEX Awards.

Presidium, a diversified real estate development, investment and management firm, has been recognized by the Austin Apartment Association (AAA) annual APEX Awards program for three of its Austin multifamily properties in the Property of the Year category and Presidium’s Regional Director Clara Pelayo as a Portfolio Supervisor of the Year finalist.

“The Vue, Solaris and Balcones Club are projects that celebrate what Presidium is built upon, which is further improving the quality of life in our communities and surrounding neighborhoods,” said Lindsay Colbert, COO of Presidium. “It’s a significant achievement that not one, but three of our communities were recognized as top properties in one of Texas’ most booming metropolitan cities.”

The Vue, conveniently located off 183, close to the city’s best shopping, dining and public transportation, was a finalist for the ‘Diamond Award,’ honoring properties built between 2000 and 2009. Solaris, located in the East Riverside district, was a finalist for the ‘Ruby Award,’ which recognizes properties built prior to 1989. Balcones Club, a modernized apartment community located off 183, was recognized as the 2020 winner of the ‘Ruby Award.’ 2020 marks Balcones Club’s third time winning Property of the Year under current ownership, Solaris’ 3rd year as a finalist, and Vue’s first time as a finalist.

“Clara has proven her dedication to the industry by putting forth the time and effort to further her professional development as a leader. She is such a strong asset to our team and we look forward to seeing what her future holds at Presidium,” added Colbert.

Starting as a Leasing Professional for Presidium in 2014, Pelayo now serves as a Regional Director where she oversees more than six Presidium communities and approximately 3,500 apartment units throughout the Austin and San Antonio areas. During her tenure with Presidium, she has been recognized as Community Director of the Year for four consecutive years.

The Austin Apartment Association (AAA) is composed of diverse groups that represent and serve the rental housing community. Servicing an 11-county area in Central Texas, the program promotes professionalism through education, provides a means of communication, participates in the legislative process and encourages mutual support of our members, the industry and community. The annual awards program recognized the winners on December 3, 2020.
