Shayna’s Place Cafe Opens at Sylvan | Thirty, Serving Love and Sandwiches

October 30, 2018 – Award-winning Shayna’s Place Cafe, a family-owned and-operated cafe dedicated to providing employment opportunities for people with special needs, is celebrating its grand opening at Sylvan | Thirty on November 2nd. Located next to CiboDivino Marketplace, Shayna’s Place is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. The menu consists of an assortment of sandwiches, salads, fresh juices, smoothies and local Oak Cliff coffee – all made fresh and served with love.

“Shayna’s Place represents a message of love and acceptance, where people from all walks of life can come together and enjoy a nutritious meal. The Sylvan | Thirty community has already shown its appreciation for the mission, and we look forward to our continued positive impact on the area,” said owner Lou Olerio.

Originally based in Rhode Island, the concept is inspired by Olerio’s cousin Shayna who has Down Syndrome. However, her family prefers to call it Up Syndrome since Shayna serves as a constant source of encouragement and inspiration for many people.

“Sylvan | Thirty is proud to be the first Texas home for Shayna’s Place. We’re excited to witness Shayna spread her magic from Rhode Island to West Dallas, bringing the community together to dine and have fun,” said Brent Jackson, President of Oaxaca Interests and developer of Sylvan | Thirty.

Shayna’s Place will also offer catering services for all types of occasions, including corporate events.
