Oaxaca Interests to Expand Sylvan | Thirty in West Dallas

Dallas-based development company to add three additional retail buildings across Sylvan Avenue from its flagship Sylvan | Thirty development

1881 Blog RenderingNovember 8, 2017 — Oaxaca Interests, a Dallas-based investment, development and asset management company, plans to expand its flagship mixed-use development Sylvan | Thirty with the addition of three new retail buildings, each approximately 3,500 square feet, along the west side of Sylvan Avenue (1881 Sylvan) in front of the existing office building. Construction is expected to begin in early 2018.

Internationally-renowned architecture firm Lake Flato and landscape architects Hocker Design Group have again been enlisted for the project, which will complement the look of Sylvan | Thirty’s retail buildings. Additionally, the exterior of the existing office building will be enhanced with coordinating landscaping and hardscaping elements. The drive-thru bank will be removed to allow for reconfiguration of the parking lot.

“Our goal is take the energy found at Sylvan | Thirty and expand it across the street. The intersection of Sylvan and Fort Worth Avenue has immense potential to become the next lively, pedestrian-friendly district, and we’re fully dedicated to making it happen,” said Brent Jackson, President of Oaxaca Interests.

Sylvan | Thirty’s retail space is currently more than 75% leased, with popular tenants including TacoDeli, Cibodivino, Whisk Crepes, Houndstooth Coffee, Pink Pedi, Cox Farms Market, Sync Yoga & Wellbeing, Betty Ringer, Craft & Company Salon, Vernacular, Arnold Brothers Dry Cleaner and Ten. Cooper’s Meat Market is anticipated to open next month.

Last month, Oaxaca Interests announced plans for redevelopment of the former W&B Refrigeration Company office/warehouse at 660 Fort Worth Avenue into a creative, indoor-outdoor dining and retail destination.
