Weekly rewind: Our favorite stories from around the Web

trump

After a long week, I’m here to remind you that you matter. Until you multiply yourself by the speed of light. In that case… you energy. No worries folks, I’ll be here all week with more terrible puns. Until then, here’s a recap of our favorite stories.

Trump & Little Trump 2016
Nobody really asked for another Donald Trump, but it happened and thankfully this one is much cooler. The little comedian featured in last week’s Weekly Rewind accomplished every millennial’s dream and landed an appearance on Jimmy Fallon as Trump’s VP, Little Donald.

Doing it Live
Democrats turned to social media during their sit-in protesting gun violence on the floor of the House of Representatives. After the cameras were turned off during the protest, representatives pulled out their smartphones and began broadcasting the event via Periscope and Facebook Live, showing that social media is changing the world for the better.  I’ve used Periscope to broadcast myself feeding a squirrel once, but I guess this is significant too.

Fairy Godmother of PR
In the public relations industry, vague instructions are normally followed by the phrase “work your magic”. Although our tricks require much more strategy and work than the wave of a magic wand, here are a few different ways to make magic happen at work.

The Queen of Shade
We can all use some lessons from Martha Stewart when it comes to keeping people humble. This week after meeting Kardashian sidekick Jonathan Cheban, she tweeted a picture of him asking different magazines if anyone knew who he was. Not even an hour later, she live-tweeted a Jason DeRulo concert and documented his disrobement. Thank you for blessing our patios and timelines with lovely shade, Martha.
