Third-party tests and approves Demilec’s Sealection 500 as high-performing barrier, saving builders and contractors time and money
Arlington, Texas, June 14, 2016 – Demilec’s Sealection 500 open-cell spray foam insulation is now approved through third-party testing for use in unvented attics without an ignition barrier, eliminating the need for contractors to add a secondary ignition barrier in those applications. When installing spray foam insulation in an unvented attic, a contractor needs only to follow the requirements of Intertek CCRR 1063 issued for Sealection 500, certifying the testing for this assembly.

Demilec now has two options for spraying open-cell without an ignition barrier: Sealection 500 for unvented attics and APX 1.2 for those assemblies needing a traditional ACC 377 Appendix X certification.
Sealection 500 is a cutting-edge formula of open-cell spray foam insulation that expands 120 times its liquid volume to insulate and seal all cracks, gaps and joints with a single application at an R-value of 3.81 at 1 inch.
