Whisk Crêpes Café delivers Paris to Sylvan | Thirty

With October 6 opening date, French entrepreneur Julien Eelsen becomes the newest tenant

WhiskDallas, September 24, 2015 – North Texans will soon be able to indulge in authentic French crepes as Whisk Crêpes Café has announced an October 6th opening date at Sylvan | Thirty, the mixed-use development at the crossroads of West Dallas and North Oak Cliff. The upscale, quick-service restaurant is led by Paris-born Julien Eelsen.

“With Sylvan | Thirty’s already thriving businesses, ideal location and flourishing community, I knew it would be the perfect home for Whisk,” said Eelsen. “I hope my cafe will give our customers the chance to experience what it’s like to be in Paris, even if for just a brief, sweet or savory moment.”

The 20-seat, 645-square foot creperie was designed by Arlene Penrose, whose impressive resume includes the suites and guestrooms at Omni Hotel in Chicago, The Black Swan Bar and Lounge at Omni Hotel in Houston and the Nashville residence of the late Johnny Cash. The petite restaurant, which is located next door to Teiichi Sakurai’s Ten Ramen, will serve traditional French crepes, as well as wine, beer and cider.

“Sylvan | Thirty offers an eclectic array of cuisines and entertainment, from CiboDivino’s Italian market to TacoDeli coming this Fall. The unique French-infused atmosphere and menu will be a welcome addition, bringing the neighborhood a fresh and authentic dining experience,” said Brent Jackson, President of Sylvan | Thirty developer Oaxaca Interests.

Joining Whisk at Sylvan | Thirty this Fall will be Tacodeli and, in early 2016, Houndstooth Coffee. Sylvan | Thirty is also home to CiboDivino, Cox Farms Market and Sync Yoga, which is currently undergoing further expansion due to its growing popularity since opening in 2012.
