MyStudentcare Launches

May 15, 2012 – Schools looking to improve the efficiency of communications with parents while reducing administrative and materials costs have a new way to communicate directly via the internet, email and text messaging, thanks to a new web-based communications tool called MyStudentCare.

MyStudentCare is designed to relieve the most common pain points experienced by school administrators when it comes to reliably communicating important information to parents, including upcoming events, permission slips, emergency medical forms, disciplinary actions and routine notices. Additionally, parents may choose to receive instant notifications via email and text messages, enabling them to take immediate action through their mobile device or computer.

“Administrators are under pressure every day to deliver top-quality services while cutting budgets. MyStudentCare helps parents and school districts strengthen their communications, reduce costs as well as raise funds, reinforce the management of sensitive student information, and simplify heavy administrative burdens,” said Ramji Venkatachari, MyStudentCare’s CEO.

The primary functions of the web-based MyStudentCare system include:

  • Contact & Health Information Management: Administrators can input, view and track important student information, including grade level, classroom, date of birth, parent contact information, emergency forms, medical information (allergies, immunizations, etc.) and disciplinary actions. Additionally, parents can update their family information as necessary by directly accessing their files through the secure, password-protected site.
  • Activities Management: School activities, including dates, deadlines, registration and costs/payments, can easily be managed by school administrators. Parents only see reminders for events that are connected to their child, from as small as a classroom level to school-wide events. Parents can also securely make payments online, enabling administrators to more easily and safely gather, track and reconcile funds.
  • Electronic Literature Folder: From as broad as district-wide to individual classrooms, administrators and teachers can upload documents and set dates for distribution, preventing lost notes home and reducing paper usage. All documents are stored securely on the password-protected site and can be reviewed/approved before distribution.

“The benefits of MyStudentCare for administrators are significant – multiple touch-points throughout the communications process are eliminated; parent participation increases due to better reminders and the convenience of always-on web access; the administrative burden is reduced; funds are better tracked; and the environmental impact is minimized,” added Venkatachari.

Plans start as low as $5 per student per month for MyStudentCare’s core system. Additional modules may be added for expanded capabilities.
