Dallas’ Hillside West Honored With NAHB’s Best Affordable Rental Award

Dallas, March 5, 2012 ­–  GroundFloor Development’s Hillside West senior-living facility in Dallas was recently recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) with the Best Affordable Rental “On the Boards” award. Designed by RPGA Design Group, KWA Construction was selected to build the 155,846-square foot, affordable housing complex located in North Oak Cliff. The NAHB’s awards program honors the construction industry’s best in building, designing and marketing of housing each year.

As a part of The Canyon, a growing mixed-use development in Oak Cliff, Hillside West will provide a variety of shopping and dining options within their community, including  Denny’s and In-N-Out Burger. The 130-unit development will also offer seniors an affordable option, as the mature demographic has found it difficult to remain in North Oak Cliff due to increasing prices set to match the growing population and popularity of the area.

“Hillside West will help a large part of the Dallas population by providing the senior community with a new home or the option of staying in a neighborhood they already associate with home,” said Brian Webster, Vice President of KWA Construction. “Seniors who choose to live at this development will be able to enjoy a high-end lifestyle and resort-style amenities, without having to use all of their savings.”

 Located at 3757 Falls Bluff Drive off of Forth Worth Avenue, Hillside West will serve residents ages 62 years and older who earn approximately 60 percent of the area’s median income or below. The development will feature a number of resort-style amenities such as an outdoor pool and lounging deck, grilling stations, open gazebos and picnic areas, as well as an elegant clubhouse with a dining room and activity room.
