Tickets now on sale for 4th annual AIA Dallas Tour of Homes

The open-to-the-public event is one of Dallas’ only citywide home tours and is the only home tour selected exclusively by architects. The self-guided tour will showcase outstanding residential architecture in the Dallas area

DALLAS, August 19, 2010 – Tickets are now on sale for the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Dallas Chapter’s 4th annual AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, one of Dallas’ only citywide home tours and the only home tour in Dallas selected exclusively by architects. Open to the public, the self-guided tour will take place Saturday and Sunday, November 6-7, 2010, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and will showcase outstanding residential architecture in the Dallas area as designed by Texas architects.

Selected homes focus on an array of concepts such as sustainably designed, renovated/adapted and new construction. The homes were chosen for their architectural merit and their ability to publicly communicate the relationship between the architect and the owner. Homes showcased in the 2010 tour include:

●      3156 Brookhollow Drive in Farmer’s Branch (Patrick Alexander Architects)

●      5707 Del Roy Drive in Preston Hollow (Susan Appleton)

●      25 Vanguard Way in Lake Highlands (Shipley Architects)

●      33 Vanguard Way in Lake Highlands (Jim Wiley with DSGN Associates and Bob Meckfessel)

●      8205 Forest Hills Boulevard in East Dallas (Nick Glazbrook with Josy Conner Collins and Marty Collins)

●      4414 and 4418 Rusk Avenue in East Dallas (Joshua Nimmo with Bloc-Design Syndicate, Stephanie Saunders, and Alan Kagan)

●      1550 Stemmons Road in Kessler Park (Shipley Architects)

●      2235 Kessler Woods Court in Kessler Park (Hammers + Partners: Architecture, Inc.)

Tickets to the full tour are $25 per person and are available online at www.hometourdallas.com, in-person at the Dallas Center for Architecture (1909 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75201), and at the individual homes during the weekend of the tour. Tickets may also be purchased for $10 per home at the individual homes during the weekend of the tour. All tour proceeds benefit AIA Dallas.
