Daltile helps transform Jay Leno’s garage from hidden shame to modern showcase

Daltile provides more than 1,500 square feet of Florenza ColorBody porcelain tile for DIY Network’s “Garage Mahal”

DALLAS, June 17, 2010 – Daltile was recently enlisted by DIY Network’s hit series Garage Mahal to dramatically make over the garage of one of America’s most famous homeowners – talk show legend Jay Leno. The show, hosted by former NFL player, pro wrestler and car buff Bill Goldberg, transforms disorganized garages into spectacular living spaces.

Jay Leno’s garage is the largest build Goldberg and the Garage Mahal team have ever tackled. It was the talk show host’s hidden shame – a personal space that no television cameras had ever seen. Everyday, he would drive home one of his more than 200 cars and park it next to broken down furniture, piles of clothes and old memorabilia.

With the help of Jay Leno himself, his six-car, three-room garage was transformed into a modern showcase complete with a high-tech turntable, making backing out of the garage a thing of the past.

The show used more than 1,500 square feet of Daltile’s Florenza 18” x 18” ColorBody porcelain tile in the color Brun.

Garage Mahal airs on the DIY Network. The Jay Leno episode is scheduled to air Sunday, June 20, 2010, at 12 p.m., and Monday, July 5, 2010, at 8 a.m. (all times eastern). The full episode is also available online at http://www.diynetwork.com/videos/jay-leno-garage/52393.html.

As part of Daltile’s public relations efforts, the company provides tile to numerous high-profile television programs on Discovery Channel, DIY Network, HGTV, A&E, and most notably ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
