Architectural Foundation of San Antonio hosting lecture given by Overland Partners architects on June 5th

ARCHITECTURAL FOUNDATION OF SAN ANTONIO HOSTING LECTURE GIVEN BY OVERLAND PARTNERS ARCHITECTS ON JUNE 5TH

 

Presentation is part of the Architectural Foundation of San Antonio’s monthly “San Antonio Makings” lecture series, which is open to the public and takes place at the new Center for Architecture

 

WHAT: The Architectural Foundation of San Antonio (AFSA) recently launched its first ongoing monthly lecture series, titled “San Antonio Makings.” The lectures take place on the “first Saturday” of every month at the Center for Architecture, home of the AFSA and AIA’s San Antonio chapter. During each session, local architects and craftsmen give an hour presentation on various architectural projects that have had a positive impact on San Antonio. The lectures are free, open to the public and refreshments are provided.

Tim Blonkvist and James Andrews, principals at San Antonio-based Overland Partners Architects, are hosting the next lecture (June 5).  Titled “Modeling and Influencing San Antonio and the World through the Practice of Architecture,” it will profile several projects designed by the firm, including the San Antonio Museum of Art Asian Art Wing; San Antonio Museum of Art River Pavilion; Clear Channel Headquarters; South Texas Blood & Tissue Center; Haven for Hope; HemisFair Park; University Health System’s Downtown Campus; and more.

The Center for Architecture is home to AIA San Antonio and the Architectural Foundation of San Antonio. It is located in the Full Goods Building at The Historic Pearl Brewery (Broadway & Pearl Parkway), just minutes from beautiful downtown San Antonio.

 

WHO: Tim Blonkvist  and James Andrews, principals at San Antonio-based Overland Partners Architects, will be presenting. Blonkvist is a founding principal of Overland and a founding board member of the AFSA.
